At first sight, there are not many common points between these 2 watches:
The shape of the case, the complications, the movements... Essential points which are characteristic to each of these two.
But, in a certain way, without saying that they can be compared, they share some common points:
The platinum case, the nice guilloché dials, an interesting finish of the movements, and more than these details -or maybe because of these details- a certain spirit, made of perceptive quality, a return to the fundamentals, a look frankly inspired from the Past...
Yes, these 2 have soul!
Due to its smaller size, the PP is a jewel in its kind, while the bigger Septantieme offers more presence.
The size, in both case, has not to be seen as a problem.
No, the Patek is not too small, no, the Septantième is not too big, they both provide a lot of pleasure, in all distinction and elegance.
They play the same partition, but in a different way.
Here they are, side by side, recto and verso:
The movements show some details I appreciate a lot:
On the JLC, a superior finish, from what we're used to see, with a superb 8 Days manual movement receiving a swan neck.
On the Patek, a lovely micro rotor.. If all the automatic movements could be like this Cal 240!
So yes, these 2, from to dial to the backside, show, share two common points: Charm, and Beauty.
Best,
Nicolas
