Hi there,
Needed an elegant dress watch and found it in the JLC Master Control SS with brown leather strap!
Want to ensure I capture everything I need for my insurance and have read through the various threads on serial numbers - and I am getting confused... Serial numbers are qouted as both 3, 4 and 7 digits, and as case and movement numbers... I'm even more confused because I have seen this particular watch at dealers with both a 4 digit number (No XXXX) and a seven digit number...
From reading through the postings on this site, my understanding is:
On the case there are two numbers:
1. 147.8.37.S, which is the 'old' reference number corresponding to the new 139.84.20,
2. A 7 digit serial number, which is unique to this watch.
On the movement there are two VERY SMALL numbers:
1. The calibre number - 899,
2. A 7 digit serial number, which is unique to this movement.
Can anyone confirm this is correct?
Many thanks,
ThoChr
