Jaeger Lecoultre Geophysic Universal Time. One of my targets.

Jan 11, 2021,08:24 AM

It is not a secret that I love World Time watches. I only have one in my collection, which is a milestone, the Patek 5110.

Though, there are some others which are worth some serious consideration. The JLC Geophysic Universal Time is one of them, and not the less interesting!

First of all, its aesthetics, which is very much my taste, with this Lambert Projection Dial, but also its case, macho and elegant.

Then, let's certainly not forget its movement, which is unique as its associates a true second and a world time. AND this is a movement which has been dedicated to this watch!

A pity Jaeger Lecoultre discontinued this line... And this watch!

For a while I had hoped that the Geophysic line would gain some traction in the market and even expand to include new complication combinations with that super-cool escapement. One can dream... ;-(

Hi Nicolas! What a shame JLC discontinued this watch and the entire line. Your photograph shows it in all its glory. I confess I was a bit critic when I viewed it your first superb report some years ago...

... about the two ugly screw heads on its beautiful dial. I loved the case, the dial but those screws... Finally I had the chance to view it in the metal and felt that the screws didn´t look so bad when on my wrist and they only shows badly on pictures an...

That makes a big difference when you can see a watch in the real life, amigo. My luck is that, most often, I discover the JLC novelties in the metal before taking pictures of them.

I fell in love at first sight, when I discovered it at the Manufacture, before the official unveiling. Un abrazo, amigo. Nicolas

It is absolutely true my dear Nicolas. Watches should be seen in the real life and tried before judging it and more important before deciding if buy it or not. It is very important too to try it on...

... the wrist, as sometimes we like how it looks in other persons but they don´t look so nice on our own wrist. Agree you are very lucky in discovering JLC novelties in the metal. Un abrazo para ti amigo mio! Abel

Gracias por leer, Amigo.
