Jaeger Lecoultre Duometre à Grande Sonnerie and its Cal 182.

May 12, 2020,03:11 AM

To this day, the most complicated movement made by Jaeger Lecoultre.

A bit more than 1400 parts in it.

Pure wizardry and Art.

Now, the movement encased, in a definitive watch:

And as we are at it, the recto:

Flying tourbillon, minute repeater, petite and grande sonnerie, perpetual calendar retrograde...

Best,

Nicolas

With considerable depth when cased. Love to see a wrist shot.

Ok. [nt]

Wow wow wow! That movement is ridiculous! Thanks for the photos!

Since most of us will never get to see the really pinnacle JLC complications in person it would be amazing if they produced more detailed content about them. A 30 minute walkthrough on YouTube of the movement engineering and design would be epic! This is ...

What a movement!!!

Tough to imagine how much work goes into something like this between the design, finishing, and assembly.

I agree. [nt]

That second photo is breathtaking

.. with the plate removed and the movement shown.. dangerous tourism. Exquisite.

Just a crazy complicated masterpiece from the one and only JLC.

I wonder if it will be surpassed by an even more complicated piece in the future!?

What else? ;) [nt]

A redesigned Duometre sounds exciting.

Hopefully the Rattrapante and hopefully this year.

Depends on many things my friend. [nt]

No message body

Of course! [nt]

 By: amanico : May 14th, 2020-02:14

Yes, I understand. There is still some ‘what’ though I feel...

 By: cory : May 14th, 2020-02:26
What will the Duometre redesign look like? What additional complication(s) will the Rattrapante come with...

It’s interesting because I don’t know exactly what I want in this new Duometre Rattrapante BUT

 By: cory : May 14th, 2020-02:32
I do know that I want something completely new, not resembling the current Duometres and a Rattrapante mechanism with a twist!

I mean more new case and new ways to design. [nt]

Similar to how they wowed us with the new MGT Gyrotourbillon 5.

Along with the Duometre Rattrapante I would love to see JLC release a Hybris Mechanica Duometre...

Something really new and highly complicated to show us again, their magic and the best of the best.

I have a lot of passion for JLC and the Duometre movement... that’s what matters the most.

Paying of my mortgage and feeding my two kids will always be more important and come first before my dream Duometre. That’s why I have passion and dreams for now. I’ll get there!

Well said! [nt]

To a Duometre Rattrapante but you know that. I will do everything I can to get one when it comes. 🤞
