Jaeger-LeCoultre

indeed, you are right...

... i'd say even more, its mainly subjectivity. You pointed out something very interesting. Does a simple dial enhance the beauty of the tourbillon as it mainly attracts your attention? I believe yes IN THE BEGINNING. With time, the magnetic visual effect of the tourbi will fade away. You will get used to seeing it and slowly slowly you will be less impressed.
Then, you will look around smile) The dial is not just the tourbi. You will see that there's nothing much interesting ( especially comparing to the tourbi )... back to admiring the tourbillon, but the "waow effect" you felt in the beginning is not there anymore. Why? Because you got used to watching solely this tourbillon turn again and again on itself.

While, IMHO, the dial of the squeleton, is a sculpture, there is a logic, a construction built around a strong visual complication and that fills the whole dial. Maybe we can compare it to a visual journey that starts with the gyro tourbillon and that takes you all over the dial.
You have a feeling of an accomplished dial.
To summon it in one word: Coherence.

Then again, my 2 cents
