Imo you should keep this LE JLC black beauty =)
Haha I may be a little bias as I own a silver dial version M8D ^^
But, here are some reasons you may consider:
1) This JLC Cal. 877 movement have a great DNA imo and a story to tell, check my 1st post on the M8D, fellow members have shared great insights on the watch and it's movement.
2) It's by JLC, a watchmaker's watchmaker=)
3) Manual Winding movement with a beautiful côtes soleillées layout which from my knowledge is exclusive to JLC and now only reserved for their higher range watches.
4) Has the same movement used in the Master Antoine LeCoultre a tribute watch for the 200th anniversary of the birth of its founder (200 pieces in platinum were made).
5) The Cal. 877 Movement in the Master Antoine LeCoultre won a Special Jury award in 2003 at the Le Grand Prix D'horlogerie De Genève.
6) And the Cal. 877 was later also used in the Panerai Radiomir 8 Days too (PAM 190 / 197 / 198 / 208).
7) Yours is a LE M8D version, so haha I'm sure even at a big event you won't have someone wearing the same watch as you xD
8) Not sure which Pam you are planning to get, but I quite sure your M8D will have more complication (useful ones) and longer power reserve than it.
9) Bored of the serious/formal all black look? Try changing to a yellow or tan leather strap with it's black dial for a refreshing new feel and look. Then you will be covered for both casual and formal events=)
10) The time you take to fully wind the Pam that you are planning to get, your M8D would have been close to or fully wind, as it just need 50 turns to be fully wind for 8 Days or 192 Hours of power reserve ^^
Haha okies I'm going to stop at 10, hope you will keep your M8D, here's the award and mine saying hello=D
Best Wishes,
Brian
