Hi Nicolas,
I had been really tempted by the original Amvox 2 that was the closest to perfection for me. That's the problem with great designs, once you change them it's rarely better!
The following iterations had slightly altered my interest and eacg time I thought about getting one I came back to the first versions.
This time I like (so far, at least until I try it on) this version. I find it more readable. I didn't like the central seconds scale on the precedent versions, which was separated in two parts. I didn't like the "decoration" of the dial either, the kind of apertures (I définitely prefer the plain original dial). This "sport's car grille" version looks much better IMO.
So I look forward to see it at the SIHH.

Love the power reserve and the new position of date window ...
but the subdial loss its former glory. I mush prefer the half circle display on the AMVOX II and this new dial seem a tad busier than it should to call it balance. I wasn't a fun of the original AMVOX II but I can see if there is an AMVOX 8 (hopefully not...
The " ears " shaped counters were a big part of the originality of the Amvox II, I agree.

I'm not too excited by the amvox 7. Adding a power reserve in a amvox 2 design feels like a minor tweak. No WOW factor. I don't want to compare this to the ROO but somehow the amvox 7 feels like that kinda concept. A bit harsh but this comes from a jlc lo...

but is much too large for my taste and wrist. I also wonder sometimes if non-Aston Marin owners ever buy AMVOX watches, even ones that do not unlock the car.
I don't have an Aston ( sadly ), but I own 2 Amvoxes... :)

it's a watch I really have to see in the metal to make my opinion. Amvoxes are usually very "sport" looking and need to see the materials' light to judge it fairly. From the first sight, it seems very nice. I also noticed the crown's notches are very deep...

As I was having another look on the pictures I noticed that the Aston emblem was hidden when the PR was full (all red) and that it appeared when it <100%. Am I wrong? It could be interesting to know how it works maybe we'll have detailed info later on ...

Well it may not be a groundbreaker but
the new design is the best ever for this series, I love it! And I have never even liked the previous models, except 'kinda'. I love the way this brings some of the EL2 elements in! I still don't like the Aston logo on the dial or frankly, the association ...
It is difficullt to discuss " Aesthetics ". Some will like, others won't.

I'm not sure I have ever identified my favorite Amvox II.
Many nice variants. Probably the DBS Racing. But I think I could pick a few that I would choose over this 7, at least at first glance. Interesting note about the Spanish Boutique piece not being produced.
Still in love with my Amvox II first generation, to say all.

fuzzy dial
I like bi-direction red band for power reserve. It's look better than the one in Extreme Lab. But the dial is too fuzzy and not easy for reading.
