Nico, do you know how it would work for watches that are also serviced or being sent for service by JLC ? I assume the service warranty will not be 8 years but hope it would be longer than before 😁🤷♂️

...it only applies to the original warranty, which is different from a service warranty, even if both are (were) the same length of time. It’s just like Rolex’s change to a 5 year warranty, which had no bearing on its 2 year service warranty.
I will register my watch for sure when the system opens on May 15.

However, I am a bit perplexed by this move by JLC because it appears to have been partially driven by a shortage of watchmakers to perform servicing. At the same time the ADs were telling you to get your watch serviced around every 5 years.
