I am enjoying mine with no problem since years

I don’t remember how many years exactly but at least 15 years if not more. I sent it for service to a watchmaker who is specialised in servicing Atmos clocks (do NOT have it serviced by any normal watchmaker, only JLC or specialised ones can do it properly) and since then it works accurately with no problem.

I have placed mine well levelled (that’s an important point also, do not forget to level it properly) against a wall on a chimney piece in the leaving room, far from the window. Like this I am sure no shock or vibration can happen ever and affect the pendulum movement.
The accuracy is ok but I must admit I never tried to measure the time deviation with accuracy because it is more a symbol of my passion that I love to look at, than a clock giving time : I often look at it and stare at it, mesmerised by it slow at silent pendulum movement without really looking what time it is...
I have another vintage mantelpiece clock that I got from my family but my wife doesn’t stand the tic tac tic tac noise of the pendulum and I had regretfully to put it on hold. This Atmos is magic for it is totally silent and doesn’t need to be wounded.
In short, I love my Atmos 😉👌👌

Atmos clock owners

Hi, anyone here owns any Atmos clocks? I’m thinking of getting one and would appreciate any feedback on ownership experiences, pros and cons, etc. Thanks in advance.

I have had three

Two worked fine and one mysteriously doesn’t. No matter what. Buy new, mount on a stone or other rigid base away from shocks or vibration. Avoid air vents or open windows. ...

Thanks!

Wow. It is THAT sensitive huh? I know it shouldn’t be moved around and was thinking of getting one to place it on top of the piano. I guess that’s not advisable anymore. Regardless, thanks for the feedback!

+1 Perfect advice.

Big sturdy tables. No small tables. No air vents as already mentioned. They can be annoying to service. They're a lot of trouble.

I’ve heard same things

I personally love the concept but heard that they should really be mounted on steady surface, no shocks and indeed not in open windows or in front of airstreams. Apparently it’s a matter of o stall it and if runs properly don’t touch it again.

Consider a Nixie Clock!

Love my Atmos, but you need to like tinkering to regulate it...

I made 4 regulations over a 4-month period to get my Atmos to its current accuracy of a 1-minute gain over 1 month. You make an adjustment and then wait 4 weeks before making any next adjustment. And then wait another 4 weeks, etc. It started nearly 20 mi...

I've got one that I bought second hand 15 years ago, it sits on top of a chest of drawers which my wife uses daily and often I see the pendulum quivering after she slams a drawer shut.😀 it keeps very good time and looks great. Guess it's just luck.

I am a proud owner of a Atmos for almost 18 years now . Amazing watch but like others also said you need to be careful with the clock .

Also had a older model but sold it a few years ago because it didn’t look that nice in my house .(design wise) If you buy a good one you won’t be disappointed imo ...
