To examine the " Galaxy " is a tought task. As often with Vintage watches, and specially with Vintage JLC watches, you think you " surrounded " the topic, and another detail / information makes you realize that you still have to learn To review the " Gala...  

even though they are extremely "dated." Years ago I had a swatch with a mystery minute hand. I do think these should be left to history, as I don't think there is much a market for a new one. There are so many other concepts to be developed. Thanks for sh... 

The mystery dial is a bit of a mystery.... Not sure how many different versions existed but for sure a lot of them! They were at least in the catalog between 1957 - 1965. Here are a few scans from my archive: 1957: Here is the wife's but with black dial. ...

Vacheron never made the Galaxy, the Vacheron name engraved in the caseback was a advertising effort and you can confirm this by contacting the Vacheron forums (their official ones from the producer not the ones here) they have neither reference numbers of... 

I wonder if VC is not in the same situation than JLC. When it comes to the US Market, does VC still have the archives? It is just an hypothesis, nothing more. And of course yes, you are right, many JLC movements were used by VC, Patek, AP... Best, Editor ... 

They have a very extensive and accurate archives, you'd have to provide both case number and movement number for them to check in the archives (I checked with my first Vacheron and Constantin) if both serial number and case number match then it brings bac... 

You send them the case and movement number, plus the reference of the watch, and they tell you what year it was made, in a certificate. Now, not many more information. And you have to pay for that. For Lecoultre watches, it doesn't work. Only for Jaeger L...
