Great post!

And very relevant for me because I got my first Reverso only recently. As I looked at and tried on the offerings, one major debate in my mind was about the sizes. (Tim Mosso on YouTube has a great size comparison video wherein he compares about 8 different Reversos.)

I decided that the larger case (46mm and up) are a new direction for JLC and not really the iconic size however good they look. For my first (emphasis on first), I needed to get a piece that was more consistent with the history.

Now I see your beautiful watch and I love it. It actually transcends the size discussion because of all the other wonderful details that you so wisely point out. My take on the lumed hands is that they add even more character to the face and are desirable precisely because they are somehow unexpected.

Thank you Nico!

Aaah, the Reverso Septantième, all an era! This Reverso is the first member of the Reverso XGT line ( XGT for Très Grande Taille=Very big size ), and it is true that the Septantième inaugurated a case whose proportions were very generous. While the GT Cas...

I am not a Reverso

But I remember this watch, it is one of the Reverso that could easily disturb my original attractions. A beautifully made Reverso and easy on the wrist too.

Near correct, I passed it on, love it and immediately unwristed it...

Because I do not like wearing someone else timekeeper, stupid I know but I just feel so inconfortable using something that is not mine. More strange, I do not mind lending whatever is mine.

It definitely has a lot of wrist presence!

I can understand the time taken to get to the stage where you buy a watch. You need to try it on, but also understand/ appreciate it too. Cheers JML

Great post for a fascinating watch!

I own and love one of its offspring, the Grande Sun/Moon: It took me a long time to get over the sense that the case was simply too big. In order to do that, I had to move past my idea that the Reverso must only be understood as a discreet gentleman's kin...

Thanks for sharing Nico!

Harkens back to the old time of JLC where they made such beautiful complications for a modest price.

Such a beautiful and iconic watch ,

Dear Nico, it is a delight to see your 70th anniversary reverso, especially in Platinum.

Really missed the days when reverso has lots of complications (perpetual calendar, chronograph, even minute repeater) and yet in such a discrete and small case. Cheers, Henry
