JLC SIHH 2011: The Master Compressor Chronograph
By: amanico : February 20th, 2011-23:59
Last year, JLC introduced the 2d Version of the Master Compressor Chronograph, " à propos " called Master Compressor Chronograph 2. A redesigned dial, in a sportier, more dynamic way, in a 41, 5 mm stainles steel or rose gold case. The new MC Chronograph ...
I like it...
By: InHavenPro : February 21st, 2011-01:06
a lot! Simple black and white is never a bad idea in my opinion .
Well, George, this is, as said, the same than the MC Chono 2d generation.
By: amanico : February 21st, 2011-07:45
But in bigger, and with the black ceramic case. It houses the same movement, the Cal 751, which is a 39 jewels 28800 vph automatic movement, offering an autonomy of 65 hours. Best, my friend. Nicolas.
Sorry Nico, just my opinion that the chronograph second..

I have wondered about the seconds hand, too
By: respo : February 21st, 2011-05:45
JLC seesm to make them a bit short on a number of their sports watches, although not all of them, executing them short on the production pieces, not just the prototypes. It just seems strange. Well, I have been looking for a black watch, even though I kin...
seconds marks on the flange
By: sixties : February 21st, 2011-05:55
Maybe the hands are too short now, because JLC has moved the seconds and fractions of a second marks to the flange in cleaning up the dial in some ot their watches. Cheers, Christoph
Thanks for your input, Respo.
By: amanico : February 21st, 2011-09:42
I guess it won't be everyone's taste, indeed. But on another hand, it is also cool to not have only consensual watches in é collection! Best, Nicolas.
Exactly!
By: respo : February 21st, 2011-12:14
I like JLC offering thier watches in a variety of materials and with such a wide range of watches across several major lines, hopefully a broader range of customers will find what they love. I am constantly amazed at just how much of JLC's total lineup I ...
Very clean looking dial
By: sixties : February 21st, 2011-05:47
without the tachymeter scale of the MCC2. The matt finished strap with grey stitching looks very nice, too. For my taste all hands could be a bit longer. They were probably taken from the smaller metal MCC2. With the black and white colour scheme i would ...
Yes! A grey ceramic would have been interesting!
By: amanico : February 21st, 2011-07:48
I totally agree, it would also break the trend. The dial is really cool, simple clean and powerful at the same time. For those who were appreciating the MC Chrono II ,but wnated to get a bigger version, that may be the one! Best, Nicolas
rubber links?
By: cuibono : February 21st, 2011-05:52
really nice looking. i wonder how it would look with that articulated rubber link bracelet? seems like ceramic and rubber would go nicely together. chris
Deep matte black, indeed.

Anti-magnetic properties?
By: STB : February 21st, 2011-08:21
Oh....while, I'm at it. JLC might also say it has a soft iron case too. :P Cheers!
I like the dial
By: mr : February 21st, 2011-09:39
But I still prefer the normal chrono's case and pushers thank you Nicholas for posting this regards Marwan
As said, it will be a limited edition of 500 pieces...
By: amanico : February 21st, 2011-09:53
Some will love others will prefer the MC Chrono II, everybody will find his pleasure, at the end. Let's say that it is not my favourite 2011 novelty from JLC. But I have no doubt that it will foind its fans. Thanks for your answer, Marwan. Best, Nicolas.
Wow...
By: nwp627 : February 21st, 2011-12:32
...it has certainly found a fan. The only problem is that at this time there are too many JLC watches that I want to possess so much so that I need to create a system of priorities that will satisfy my wife, my banker and of course myself. Thank you for t...
gorgeous!
By: playtime : February 21st, 2011-09:51
this is a very exciting development! Just love what they did--and I'm guessing the black case serves as a means to moderate the size of the 44mm case--at least to the eye. Like how a little black dress flatters ANY woman Thanks for sharing sir! Jason
You raise an interesting point about the size and the black case ...
By: amanico : February 21st, 2011-10:00
In tjis " ceramic " configuration, it doesn't look like a 44 mm watch, I hjad to ask twice to be sure. I would have thought 42 mm. Sportivity versus polyvalence, This Black MC Chrono versus the MC Chrono II, it will be up to everybody to choose. Two diffe...
thank you for the report
By: hitman : February 21st, 2011-10:44
I normally am a fan of the black look and I love chronographs, but there is something not in sync with this model. Perhaps it's the contrasting metal on the pusher/crowns, I'm not sure.
I see what you mean, hitman.
By: amanico : February 21st, 2011-11:53
We could also see that as an additon of contrast... Wouldn't it be too black with the pvdised crown and pushers? These Damn Design things. Thanks for your input. Best, Nicolas.
Not for me…
By: blomman Mr Blue : February 21st, 2011-11:30
This one of the first novelties that I don’t get a warm feel about when I see it. But, that is maybe not so strange: Not a big fan of Chronograph. Not a big fan of +42mm cases. Not a big fan of black ceramic or pdv cases… I am sure it will find its fans a...

defend the Master Compressor line. the force of the original MC line was that it mixed an elegant polished slightly oversized case of 42 mm which created a sportswatch look with the compressor crowns. this produced a very polyvalent hybrid expression whic...

Well, you laready have it: The Duometre à Chronographe. For what t is, it is a bargain. Best, Nicolas.
I don't know NIc...its just trying too hard to be cool this watch..
By: Miranda : February 21st, 2011-16:05
and then looses its original charm.... But then so many watches are trying to be too macho, techy I suppose, and just end up being "pantomime watches" I'll stick with the normal AP ROO, and Panerai for machismo I think..... Just my thoughts.....and I'm pr...

The Navy SEALs Alarm in certainly one of these, from my point of view. Let's say that it is one of my favourite. Myb guess is that this new MC Chrono black will touch other kind of people, those who want one watch, not necessarily collectors or WIS. Why n...
why doesnt the chrono seconds hand extend all the way......
By: JMan : February 21st, 2011-22:44
The dial certainly looks much more elegant. In order of the all the markings (which I assume is for the red seconds hand) to be useful, the chrono seconds hand needs to be longer. And of course, the real seconds hands seem real short too. J.

(1) articulated rubber + black croc w/white stitch. (2) Compressor Buttons on the pushers. This piece is more like the Lady Compressor Chrono, which, I assume, uses double gaskets for the 100-meter WR vs the Compressor Button, which uses triple gaskets an...
Well, Dean
By: amanico : February 22nd, 2011-12:02
1/ I think that finding a black Croc with with stitching is not that difficult to get. 2/ As for the Compressor buttons on the pushers, it would have been a more logical technical choice, I agree. I guess that JLC priviledged Elegance with these rectangul...
I'd stick to the "old" or the new non compressor black dialed version
By: Starman : February 22nd, 2011-11:43
Not sure about the non compressor pushers; it somehow does't seem right. The non black compressor appeals to me a lot because its sporty but also dressy in an subtile kind of way, like the compressor hometime. Also there is a lot going on on the compresso...
For an enhanced contrast?
By: amanico : February 23rd, 2011-22:54
Yes, but, at least, they match with the pushers and compressor crown... Thanks for sharing your opinion, Richard. Best, Nicolas.
