Jaeger-LeCoultre

collectible, I don't know, but it is a pointless watch, functionwise

Nowadays, people don't really buy watches for practical reasons / functional qualities.

This watch is completely pointless from a functional point of view - as are 90% of all the so-called "divers watches" priced above 2000$ IMHO.

The watch has absolutely no practical use for diving (as pointed by others already), and its size (which could be justified IF the watch had a practical functionality), makes it inpromer for everyday use - be it casual or formal.

Not to mention the 2nd timezone is useless and distracting in the context of a so-called diving watch.

That being said, I don't think you should not buy the watch if its look and marketing appeals to you  (we buy watches mostly for the fun it gives us), but if you are looking for any rational to buy it, I afraid there aren't many !

Bottom line: Buy it if you like it, and if you don't care of wearing a really oversized watch with no purpose in every day life....

After all, life is about having fun, and there are people out ther buying Hummers to drive in only town, so, why not......
