We like to discuss watches on this website, but I find it that people rarely talk about the "ugly" side of owning a mechanical watch - the need for servicing. Here's my unfortunate experience I had with it so far (sorry if a bit long)... I own a JLC Maste...
And that is not because a lot are happy that the few who are not satisfied are wrong to express their disappointment. The way your Watch has been serviced is not acceptable at all. Neither the way you have been treated. Personally, I never had a problem w...
I can entirely understand your frustration, the point is irrespective whether the watch was serviced back in Switzerland or any authorized service centre of JLC, each watch should be returned with no hiccups at all. Nicholas may know about the procedures ...
I personally own 3 JLC, a Master Perpetual, a Geographique and a Reverso Septantieme. From my experience JLC service has always been excellent (the 3 watches have been serviced at different times) perhaps the only complain I had was when I left my Septant...
recently, some shared here & others, heard or seen first hand. While it bothers us, the customers, now, in the longer term it is the brands themselves that would be negatively affected.
Dear Customer, Your message on the forum PuristSPro regarding the service of your Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Hometime watch captured our full attention. It is only through invaluable customer feedback that we can strive to improve our service to our clients....
as a potential owner of a JLC watch who looks at their watches and sees a) a fine looking watch and b) a barely affordable service nightmare of my own in five years time the response I would like to see is '.........our main purpose being to maintain the ...
Thank you Nicolas for contacting JLC for me. Right now my AD expressed their deep concern and decided to take back the watch for a thorough inspection. I'll let you and JLC know the verdict when they get back to me. And thank for the support from all the ...
I am also a happy owner of JLC but I have sent my watch for a service for the first time. My Reverso Sun Moon was sent to Switzerland in May 2013 and expected to be finished in November. However, I am a bit disappointed how the diagnosis came out from JLC...
Several years ago I sent my Grand Reviel (original model, 1989 mfg) in for a service in Switzerland. They had it for 6-7 months. It was returned in magnificant condition.
Here are the recent developments in my miserable watch case. The AD's watchmaker inspected the watch and informed me that the "day/night" indicator offset is only 30min and it's not worth bothering with. I agreed but suspected something worse - the misali...
I feel sorry for what has happened to you. Is JLC really listening? Straps are meagre to manufacturers and it is the brand that this whole unpleasant experience that is putting a dent into it. I hope this will get resolved soon. Please continue to keep us...
I'm in the market for a dress watch and JLC was at the top of my list, but I'm not buying one if the service is this unreliable. 1 year and still no properly-functioning watch? I think they should give you a brand new watch with a hand-written apology let...
At the time I thought (and hoped) it's only a simple misalignment that might be fixed by the AD...The AD had the watch for inspection for some time, but they didn't see the real problem. What I describe above became apparent to me only after I had a watch...
I too am in the market for a nice dress watch and was considering JLC as a potential buy. However, given the circumstances I am thinking twice about the brand...especially how storied this brand is as well. Good luck BuberJLC!!
Since the MUT is not a complicated watch (not to say that it's a simple one!), I'd say JLC need to really mess up to let a fault slip through their QC.
