A PROMISE IS A PROMISE!

A WATCH REPORT FROM THE 50th STATE / HAWAII
I promised to our respected JLC Moderator Nico to take some diving pictures of TTP. However, the scuba diving in Hawaii was really bad. I don\t mean the sea / I mean how the diving was conducted. No safety measures were followed and unexperienced divers were diving alone below their depth limits in a wreck. So I made just one dive and during that dive I was mostly looking around and checking that everybody is okay even I was not on duty. But I believe that a DM must behave professionally even when fun diving.
Anyhow, the results of the dive were no pictures of the Polaris. It was time to think... In Oahu Waikiki Beach they operate the world\s largest passenger submarine Atlantis 64.
I thought about the history of Polaris and remembered that two Polaris/type sub Captains got the watch. So what would be more natural than take a dive with a submarine and get a couple of pictures in the natural environment. At least I would keep my promise to Nico.
From the drawings the submarine looks quite impressive.
But when looking at the specifications, the submarine is a bit less impressive than the crude oil carriers I play with on my daily work.
So I went to check the model of the submarine in order to see what it actually is.
It looked quite interesting and I had to sit down and think what to do.
Please note the COLOR of my shirt which shows my perfect taste!
Okay, I decided to buy a ticket and take a dive with a real submarine. The sub. is classified by American Bureau of Shipping which confirmed me that it must be safe.
Getting into the submarine everything seemed to be fine and cool. Even the Captain looked like a real professional.
But the TTP did not look bad at all during the first meters of our dive to the depths of the Pacific Ocean.
When the submarine went just a couple of meters under the surface, the color of my new Hawaii shirt changed dramatically.
Once again I was thinking about those watch manufacturers who make so called divers\ watches with red markings. I bet that they know about diving as much who has been snorkeling his head half covered by water and butt above the surface pointing the sun!
When we went a bit deeper, I started to think that now my TTP is in its right environment.
But like always, the domed plexy drove me crazy.
Or from this angle, the watch looks even more spectacular.
Polaris did not look bad in our maximum depth of 120 feet which in fact is a scuba diving depth.
We had a wonderful trip to Hawaii and we tried many kind of activities. One of the most interesting ones was surfing. Darja really stood on her surfing board already on her first trial. I turned into a diver. Every time...
About the submarine trip I can tell very little. I had only one issue I focused in and it was my love and sexy...watch. What a Honeymoon!
Best,
Kari
