Hi Nicolas,
That is a wonderful watch! The combination of the white base metal case, the aged black dial, and the gracefully tapered lugs create a very pleasing effect. Moreover, I'm used to seeing these with light colored dials and LeCoultre signatures, so a dark dial 476 signed Jaeger-LeCoultre is a real treat.
Watches like this represent tremendous value for the collector. Given its huge importance to the manufacture's history, its impressive appearance, and reasonable Cal. 476 prices on the vintage market, this is exactly the kind of watch I would show to a friend looking to enter the watch hobby and engage with the community. As the first entry in a collection, it yields a bounty of enjoyment for a minimal investment, and it will still look great surrounded by complications twenty years into the collection process.
I'm surprised we don't see more of these and the equally enchanting Powermatics on the boards.
Best,
Tim
