I've never seen this version of the Geophysic before and I must admit this is a real beauty!

Here's to your health Nicolas and thank you for the effort you put into this forum, it's really outstanding!

And yes, MJLC, you can also put me in the order books for a re-edition of the Geophysic.

Ouch!

What a nice gift for your birthday!

 By: Marv : December 17th, 2012-13:25
This is a very nice and so rare configuration. And in a beautiful condition. Superb!

An even more superb version

 By: stromer : December 17th, 2012-13:55
Of an absolute grail watch. I did not now about this dial variation so far. Thank you for showing to us! Best, Martin

Even more superb, that I don't know.

 By: amanico : December 17th, 2012-14:08
I long thought about that, and couldn't make my mind on that question. The best is to get both, I fear. But finding a cross hair Geophysic will be a very tough mission... Best, my friend. Nicolas

You got me

 By: stromer : December 18th, 2012-00:30
You are right. If I reconsider the dials with and without the crosshairs it is really hard for me too to prefer one over the other. You may have noticed that I have a weakness for watches and dials that are reduced to what is necessary for their function....

It is a question of time, my friend.

 By: amanico : December 18th, 2012-13:39
But I loved what you wrote about reduction and function. That is also a big part of the charm of this watch. Best, Nicolas

Happy Bday Nico! [nt]

What an incredible dial!! I wasnt aware of the "cross Hair". I agree you could add it to the one you already own. Best wishes for the new year and may all your wishes come true. All good from Christian

That would be a dream. If I find two, one for you, one for me? :)

 By: amanico : December 18th, 2012-02:22

Leave some nice ones for us, please! :) All the best, and thanks, RDL. Nicolas.

No worries

 By: RDL : December 20th, 2012-00:36
No, since I was not even aware of the cross-hair version. But thanks to you I now am! But no worries - firstly, I am very torn: on the one hand, I do love cross-hair dials on some level, on the other hand, I am becoming more and more purist and prefer 'cl...

Thanks, RDL. I agree on many points.

 By: amanico : December 20th, 2012-02:00
But the most difficult, with a Cross Hair dial, is not to fund it, but to find it... Especially when it comes in such condition. Well, as for their value, the Patek 3417 is in the same range... It seems that all amagnetic ( manual ) watches are at the sam...

agreed!

 By: RDL : December 20th, 2012-02:12
Fully agree, I like how you say it: more difficult to find than to fund it! Definitely true, and the condition of the watch you posed is just incredible. And I also agree that amagnetic seems to have moved quite a bit (PP 3417, Geophysic, but also Omega R...

More regrets to not have bought than to have bought a watch.

 By: amanico : December 20th, 2012-02:23
That is the kind of question which helps me to make a decision, on all the watches I consider... ;) Now, I am also considering letting some go to be able to fund my long time hunted targets... I love that game! Best, Nicolas

Just before retiring to my apartments, a look at this beauty...

 By: Sandgroper : February 16th, 2013-05:32
To fill my dreams. Thank you for this lovely picture and for your nice, patient and thourough teachings.

I would love to find anoother Geophysic, but with this dal, too. ;)

 By: amanico : February 16th, 2013-05:58
You see, dreams turn to nightmares sometlmes... Best, my friend. Nicolas
