Timing on JLC Master Perpetual
Hello,
My JLC Master perpetual has been to the Texas service center 2 times and finally a third time they sent it to Le sentier as they found the amplitude to be weak. The watch was losing time and was also abruptly stopping. There was no detail about what was determined to be the cause other than the mention that it was completely dismantled, a full service was performed and it was reassembled at the manufacture.
The watch came back with a +4 second/day gain (as timed by JLC) and I was okay with it. This was September last year. I now find the drift is +8 seconds which I find unacceptable.
Could other experienced members comment on whether or not this is considered acceptable and what is the norm for deviations on a watch of this calibre. Should I send it back for timing adjustments? Typically how close of a tolerance can they achieve? My understanding is that mechanical watches tend to get slower during warm days but mine has become faster.

De-magnetize it first
Magnetism is a common reason for a watch speeding up. If you don't have a degaussing machine, find a friend who does, or a cooperative watch repairman. Demagnetizing takes only seconds, and probably will be done for you for free. Cazalea

Only you can decide what spec you are happy with, but I suggest you take it off the winder and wear it for awhile
By awhile, I mean weeks or a month wear it each day, or every other day. And then experiment with different ways of leaving it on the desk or bedstand at night. Watches are made to be worn and even though the winder may keep it wound so you need not worry...
Wear it
Some of my watches also tend to run faster in the 'Crown right' position while being in the winders, i.e. dial vertical. See how your daily habits impact the accuracy of the watch. And 8s a day might appear a lot, but if you compare this gain to all secon...
