Jaeger Lecoultre Tribute to Reverso 1931: Black Or Red, or?

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2014-01:45
No, no, it is not the title of Stendhal's book, it is a dififcult question about tasts, colors, prfrences... When I see them, I must admit a certain trouble: The Black goes everywhere, very easy to wear. The Red pops out, in a spectacular way, but is mu...

How about

Three times

 By: Spellbound : May 6th, 2014-02:09
Three times I have walked into the JLC boutique with the intention to buy the Rouge, but every time, I try it on and decide it is not for me. Maybe rose gold works better with my Eurasian skin tone. I am fixed on the Chocolate now and am pretty sure this ...

Your mind is pretty clear, on those TT R!

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2014-08:06
Does that mean that you are consiering getting the Blue, too? Best, Nicolas

Decision path 1 - the Rational approach : .. The facts: as I am already having the black TT 1931, - and already also having a white/ black duo face ( b/ wt) from 1983, (and another Calendar Double Date plus the Reverso Gd. GMT) - my Kudos for myself would...

Blue for me...

 By: Dave G : May 6th, 2014-02:38
I love the shade of blue on this piece and the reverse side as well. Dave

As usual, it depends.

 By: shaftel : May 6th, 2014-02:42
Both are gorgeous (the chocolate is nice, but not as much as the black and red imo, and I'm really not a big fan of the blue one). My view is that if you already have a Reverso, a classical one, then the Red is spectacular and what you want. But if, which...

Welcome here, Shaftel! And thanks for your well advocated feedback!

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2014-08:20
The black is more " passe partout ", indeed. Best, Nicolas

Thanks !

Thanks !

Only one? That would be like a camel with only one hump...!

By: blomman Mr Blue : May 6th, 2014-03:03
Why be a dromedary! ;) You know my answer already.... But IF I was forced to only pic one... You know my love for blue dials... Best Blomman ...

Ditto to Blomman's response

 By: 4Js : May 6th, 2014-03:47
It is how I feel and what I own too! But my first Reverso was the Cienceros, so black was really first. But it is the larger case, so it does not count. I find the blue to be more versatile and it is just something in the light. Easy flip for an outstandi...

I knew it... You can't, you, my greedy friend, go for only one.

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2014-08:22
And somewhat, I feel you are right... THere may well be some place for a 3rd one, knowing you as I know you. ;) Best, Nicolas

You know me so well, my friend...! ;)

By: blomman Mr Blue : May 6th, 2014-12:33
Yes, there might be room for another Reverso - or actually several...! ;) But, let's put a pin in that for now since I am working a post on the topic. Best Blomman

no we cannot stick to only one you have to choose

either: the steel Black & Red or the WG blue enamel dialed one case closed.

Blue

 By: dms : May 6th, 2014-04:54
If I had to pick only ONE, and if I had no other Reverso, I would go for the blue for 2 reasons: great blue dial, and a "second" watch when you flip the dial. This is why my first Reverso was a Grande GMT (over a Grande Date): two different dials, so diff...

Blue is it

By: Blue and White : May 6th, 2014-05:37
Nicolas, that is a tough question indeed. But if I have to opt for one, and if it was not for everyday occasions, I would go for the blue one. Considering my nick, not too surprising, is it? :-) Since JLC shows quite some creativity with colors, why not s...

That makes sense, Abdullah. ;)

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2014-11:22
As for the Reverso AM, JLC made one, it was not warmly welcomed to say the least. Best, Nicolas

Red is hard to beat

 By: stromer : May 6th, 2014-06:20
I had a look at black for some times, but it does not get to me. Somehow it is missing something. The blue is great, but I think the second dial add too much of thickness and disturbes the finely balanced proportions of the Ultra Thin Reverso. The Chocola...

I could verify that by myself when we met in Paris.

 By: amanico : May 6th, 2014-11:38
It is much more polyvalent than we initially think. But its coolness is is major asset, I think. Thanks for your owner's feedback, my friend. Nicolas

I am visiting the JLC boutique tomorrow to see various JLCs!

Nicolas your post is timely. I am seriously planning for a jlc as my next watch (maybe soon... maybe later this year depending on how much I need to save) :) From your pics, I am surprised by myself that I actually like the cool factor and charm of the re...

You will see that the red nuance is quite captivating. Between the dressy and the cool.

It depends

If you own no reverso then I would say the black one. If you own a reverso already then I would say go for red. Although that white gold with the grained dial is might tempting too! Great pictures- thank you for sharing. Edmond

I've always liked...
