Considering a new purchase - JLC v. Panerai
I am looking to get a new watch. Initially my first choice was a Panerai 212 1950 Flyback, however now I am considering a few other Panerai's including PAM 214, and others with an open back and black face.
I am also liking two JLCs as well - Master Compressor Chrono - Steel Leather Strap, and Compressor Extreme World Chrono - Steel Leather.
Do you think the Extreme World Chrono is too big?
Does the Master Comp Chrono have an open back? Does the Master Comp Geographic have an open back?
Lastly, I like the changeability of the straps offered on the Panerai, and all of the different styles and colors they sell, as well as our offered by third parties. Clearly, the Extreme WC is easy to change but what about mastr compressor chrono, and how are the options of straps from JLC?
If you could please give me a run down of your thoughts, based on the look , movement and brand reputation I would greatly appreciate it. Also if you think I a missing something let me know . I like open back but it does not have to be open.
My most "prominent" watch in my current collection is AP Royal Oak Chrono Steel/Steel.
Thanks!

Hi, Between a Pam 212 or 214, and a MC Chrono ( 41,5 mm ) or an EWC ( 46,3mm ), I'd would be tempted to opt for the JLCs, and more precisely on the EWC. The watch is big, but it is quite easily wearable, and comfortable on the wrist. Now, if your wrist is...

The EWC is the way to go if it feels good on your wrist and you like the design as much if not better than the other watches. The EWC has so much going for it and at a relativley reasonable price (still expensive, but for what you get, it is a bargain). I...

Now, take your time, enjoy your new watch, and have a look on our posts. You will see many nice watches, which are not that pricey. For example, an Amvox I, or a Master Compressor Memovox, is another smart choice. Why? Which complication is characteristic...
