Why would you care what other people say
You like the watch, you are able to afford, so enjoy it. And you are not alone: I was in Schaffhausen few weeks ago, and was told that they sell every Ingenieur they produce. The only one the had in a factory store was already spoken for. My impression is that every new watch released nowadays creates a controversy of some sort. I personally just ignore it and buy what I like. As for price comparison with other brands, every company has its own pricing strategy.

Spot on re the power reserve, really appreciate it and haven't had to set the time once since acquiring. I wish it had an extendable end link, like the Overseas or new Nautilus, but the link change system is so easy I don't think it's the end of the world...

This watch is simply a bad bastardisation of its predecessor and the original version.
The crown guards were better suited on the more elegant case of its predecessor. And why did they add screws on the bezel? Also that movement is just a shame. Either make the dial fit the movement or make the movement fit dial.
