IWC

Upon request: a little excursion into IWC Ocean 2000 "Bund"

IWC made a special version of the Ocean 2000 on commission of the German Bundeswehr, the Navy to be precise.

1) Wristwatch for combat swimmers, ref. 3314 and 3319: Quartz movement; "3H" sign, 3H Standing for an isotope of hydrogen indicating the use of tritium on the dial

2) Wristwatch for attack divers, ref. 3509 and 3529: automatic movement; no "3H" sign on the dial

3) Wristwatch for mine divers (minesweepers), ref. 3519; automatic and totally a-magnetic movement ("AMAG"); 3H sign on the dial. This is the rarest Version, only 50 pieces have been produced.

All the watches bear on the outside case back their NATO stock number "Versorgungsnummer".

Below you see from left to right: 3519 AMAG / 3519 AMAG / 3529 / 3509; I do not own quartz watches, hence no 3314 nor 3319........

The 3509 to the left is a special one, the so called "Executive Version". There is very few literature on it and not all Information is stable but it is a fully fletched 3509 but it is missing the NATO stock number on the outside of the case back. The story goes that a very small number of these were made for a handful of executives at the Porsche Design Studio

Cheers, HSTE

PS: Oh, and this is by the way how a full and complete set looks like:

And these are the "Versorgungsnummern" (NATO stock numbers) on the case-back and on the bracelet:
