IWC

this says a lot more about the quality of the survey than it does about the brands

This is clearly a flawed survey from just about any angle and it's sad that they associate a specific number (7.87) with the ranking even, lending a further (inappropriate) sense of validity without clarify how the score was generated nor certainly making any attempt at clarifying what it might possibly mean. The cold hard truth is that any such survey is deeply suspect from the get-go no matter how much we might agree with the results due to the incredible difficulty of pulling good, representative data out of any sample populations regarding something so completely subjective (the word completely doesn't even seem to cover it) as perceptions of luxury brands. The term 'exercise in futility" comes to mind, but I really think it's an exercise in cynicism frankly, as the only clear motives for the Luxury Brand Status Index Survey to exist even is to capitalize on the basest aspects of luxury and the gullibility of the ill-informed wealthy.
