Thickness is an important factor...

The Ingenieur has a higher rating of 80,000A/m as the thickness of the date plate is thicker than the pilot, at about 0.9mm.
However, with increase thickness, it could also affect the casing overall thickness too.

Great and very informative post. Never realized that the alloy cage is that thick ! Interesting observation on the dial and cage interface too.

Hi Kong, I am wearing a Mark XV as I type this and I didn't realise that the dial comprised part of the antimagnetic cage. I wonder if the date aperture compromises the antimagnetic characteristics of the watch in any way? Very informative series of photo...
