Photo essay: Portuguese Rattrapante Milano
Mar 14, 2020,09:51 AM
Dear All,
A positive aspect of the virus is that being locked at home gives more time to take some pictures of watches... Here are a few shots from my latest acquisition, the IWC Portuguese Rattrapante Edition Boutique Milano.
I really like the attention to details on the dial: the telemeter ring has a different blue, more "vivid", while the combination of sunray finish and round guilloche really "pops"
The Rattrapante hand has a slightly different gold color than the other hands, and the 2 scales (telemeter and tachymeter) bring a "latin" touch to an otherwise (too) germanic design.
The back is engraved with the "Biscione", emblem of Milano.
The Rattrapante is nice to operate and is of course a lot more special than a normal chrono. While it's not IWC first batch it's not popping up every other week either. The finish is industrial but has an old school flair from IWC back in the days.
I live in Zurich and bought my watch at the IWC boutique on Bahnhofstrasse but will make sure to take it to Milan as soon as the possible, I love this city and hope everything will get back to normal as quickly as possible.
Stay strong Italian Friends!
