IWC Santoni strap question
So I ordered a few Santoni straps and they are great, my only issue is that the stock strap that came with my Portugieser is a bit longer on the short end and shorter on the long end than the ones that came in:
As you can see from the picture the straps would end up being the same total length, is that due to different types of IWC deployant s being made available?
I ask as I am looking for a couple of aftermarket deployant clasps and not sure which would work. Any advice is much appreciated

This is by design.
This is by design. IWC deployant straps are designed to keep the deployant clasp centered on the wrist. So a shorter "head" strap and longer "tail" strap will keep the clasp away from the side of the wrist. More comfortable this way. The original strap wa...

Actually the original strap also came on a deployant, both have shorter straps just one is significantly shorter. I was thinking there might be two types of IWC deployants
Yes, two types do exist...
IWC introduced the "butterfly" type deployant in the last couple years and offers it on some of their newer Portugieser models. This type sits more centered on the wrist and I think requires the longer "head" strap: Photo from eBay ...
