Perfect chronograph! The combination of a utilitarian look and a high build quality is unbeatable for long term ownership.
The 1990s were a high point for IWC pilots watches. I wasn't thrilled with the recent limited edition re-releases with larger case diameters. The original watch is a bit chunky. Charmingly chunky, because the dial is just right.
The creamy tritium is as good as it gets. If IWC wishes to pay respect, I'd like to see the original's dial proportions maintained, with white superluminova, a longer power reserve, and marginally improved detailing - depending on what can be achieved with updated manufacturing technology.
