Although cost and how much of the original may be kept are definitely considerations. Sorry to hear about the water ingress, I generally get watches serviced every 5 years for the ones I take in the water. Looking forward to reading your updates!
I had this beauty but never take it into the water. Good luck with the service. I am sure it can be fixed, asides from the depth gauge as pointed out by Nicolas, but at what price?
The watch can be saved, but the cost may be quite high. I had an Ocean 2000 that was also out of service for almost 15 years and then became waterlogged last year above 2,000m (another story) and now it is better than new. But the cost was rather prohibit...
I'm sure the IWC will make a full overhaul and make it new again. But it will cost. I'm very interested in the total sum so please keep us informed. BTW, one of the, if not the greatest IWC dive watch they have ever made. Along with Ocean2000. Spectacular...
