Yes..I agree. HM5 is going to be hard.

I think that HM5 sort of reflects the times of recession and cutbacks, and maybe the only affordable/least expensive of all the machines.
Totally agree with you on the observations you made.

The MBF HM5 and the Opus V, HM5 will soon be mine.
By: bernard cheong : January 17th, 2013-19:19
Well, what can I say? I bought the Opus V in 2005 WITHOUT seeing the watch...bec I trusted my instincts. Today, I bought 2 HM watches...the HM5 and finally the HM4 no 3 in Rose Gold (more pics on that later). On facebook or google "bernard cheong", the im...

A great and interesting collection. Hard to see all the pieces, but besides the MBF and HW, I think I see Devon, UN Freak and Debuthune watches? Wow!
Whoah! what an epic collection!

Bernard, You have only 2 wrists and yet so many watches =) Just want to say thank you for all the writing, reviews and deep thoughts about so many watches in this forum. Just want to let you know that I bought my UN freak and HM4 after i read your essays ...
Oh..wow. Thanks for telling me about Freak and HM4..

I am super happy for you. I can't see the future, and I have no crystal ball, but I am sure these watches will bring you joy and open doors of all sorts of interesting ways of looking at design, engineering and art... Indeed..even a desire to explore poet...

Good to have you back mate

And huge congrats on the HM4. It's a piece that I cannot fathom...sculpture or horology? Is there a need for both as a combination in a product meant for the wrist? Best, Horo
Horogasm..the HM4 is MAD, and so..it is most representative
By: bernard cheong : January 17th, 2013-21:27
Even down to the name itself. BUT...I now feel as if it will be the ONLY watch that can take on Opus V (platinum). It is way out, just as Opus V was...and it has a soul. I know how it was concieved, not by reading magazines/websites, but from "the beginni...

There are only 5 people who have seen ALL my watches. My wife is NOT one of them. Chuckles. That said, I valued them all because it really cost me money and work to buy....and many I bought out of the head, not the heart. That would be my Patek and Lange ...
Congrats Bernard

Even as we speak, I have people out there looking for another one for me.....and the prices asked are too high for me. $300,000 usd is what most people would want...if they are asked to sell, when they don't need the cash. In fact, $450,000 usd is more of...

I have yet to see the HM5 in the flesh as was busy in Geneva the week it was released, but will do next week and am really looking forward to it. My original thoughts were not positive on release and I was a bit disappointed but after seeing more pictures...

Well, my wife will be the FIRST to kick my statement of owning any HM 4 or 5 into orbits left vacant in larger planets. I agree 50%, disagree 50%. I think that HM5 is a modified HM3 and a half completed HM4. Sounds TERRIBLE. But look...there are the minut...

On any relevance at all between my thoughts and your comments (ramblings?). Maybe you were answering some of your own questions and wanting to hear your own response? Cheers Andrew

Forgive me...I reread...and I agree with you, even I need to think about what I said...but I guess it is straight from the head. Chuckles. LIVE LONG and prosper even longer.
Well, Bernard I must say I'm a bit dissapointed by HM5...

... even if I love the style and look. But here are some elements I have a problem with: MB&F has always created original, unseen watches. Even if sometime inspired by industry/nature (HM4, HM3 Frog version). But here, even if I like its look, it went...

Hello Bernard, Do you have any watches from Manufacture Royale? What do you think of this brand? It is a newish independent with a dynamic owner! Thanks. Regards, Sham
I have seen it, quite impressed, but worried about longevity of the brand
By: Hororgasm : April 22nd, 2013-04:33
And owners are a bunch of fun guys, even crazy. Had a great time with them last year. However, when one drop that sort of money on a watch, one need to be sure of the longevity of the brand and serviceability of the watches in due course. Sadly, on that c...

Thanks for the info. I only ask because I did buy an Androgyne when it first came out and they have been quite good so far with after sales service and flying me to Basel this year. I agree though that the longevity of the brand is crucial. Sham {5836733}...
