Urwerk UR-230 + Spacetime Blade
A little diversion this evening to see some watches.
The UR-230, a big brother in ways of my UR-105, with its mini convertible top. It’s interesting that the feel and action of this on the 230 is more solid than that of the 105. Kind of like closing a door in a German car versus a Japanese car. (I realize I’m generalizing but you get the point).
I think the 230 looks OK on my wrist. It’s an Urwerk, it is not intended to be hidden after all.
The UR-100 I’ve always struggled with. Not my taste, and given its square edges and lugs the watch wears big. This one is an interesting iteration. Design wise however I don’t like that the engraved shell is underneath the crystal.
And finally below is the Spacetime Blade. I would love one of these, such a cool item.

I would love to have one sone day but I’m afraid the price point is well beyond my comfort levels.

The Nixie is pretty killer, although I will need to settle for my Dalibor Farny Nixie. Which in itself is a cool little clock.

The 230 looks pretty nice! I like that design on the 'convertible top', looks interesting. Does the 105 look similar? Agree...that spacetime blade would look great in the game room! lol
Yeah, the 105 and the 230 look similar at first glance.
Case shape, orientation of the minute scale and the flip top. But they are very different under the hood. For the Blade, I’d have in front and center in my home if I could afford one ! My wife might say otherwise but I think I could sway her !

But I would add, it’s a low key watch in black at least. I think people need to look closely to really understand what it is, I find with my 105 people don’t give it a second look (which is good). The 230, being a little more open might catch a few more s...

It embodies all the craziness Urwerk stands for, in a very attractive package. Simply wonderful! And the Blade is a nice bonus 😁
For me, it was very appealing.
If a windfall came my way tomorrow then I would make the splurge. I think it compliments my 105 nicely.

But I do agree, I’d rather spend the money on the watch on my wrist than the clock.

Like you some more then others. Still happy with my 103 after many years but maybe i will change it for another model in the future. Not sure which one yet 🤷🏻♂️
