I thought I’d share even though many I assume have read and seen the details elsewhere. Limited to 25 pieces in each of the Black and Iron. Retail price is US$49,000. In addition the “standard” satellite display / wandering hours the UR-100 also provides an indication of distance travelled on the ea
Caliber 12.01
Powering the UR-100 SpaceTime is the automatic Caliber 12.01, with baseplates in ARCAP and a power reserve of 48 hours. The automatic winding rotor is regulated by a flat turbine, theWindfäng(Swiss German for “air trap”) that minimizes shocks to the rotor bearing and reduces over-winding and wear and tear. The rotor, which is partially supported on its periphery by the flat turbine, also has a larger diameter, resulting in a lower mass and therefore less wear.
In-house testing of the flat turbine rotor regulation system found that it provided significant and exponential protection against excessive rotor speeds (theWindfängerrotates six times for every rotation of the winding rotor).

The UR-100 series represents Urwerk's exploration of time display through satellite hours and astronomical indications. Positioned as a more accessible entry point into the brand's unique horological universe, it maintains the distinctive design language and technical innovation characteristic of Urwerk.
The UR-100 features a 41mm x 14mm case, typically crafted from titanium and stainless steel, or other advanced materials depending on the specific iteration. Its movement utilizes a rotating satellite system for hours and minutes, complemented by displays for the Earth's rotation and revolution around the sun. The caliber operates at 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and offers a power reserve of 48 hours.
This reference is significant for collectors interested in contemporary independent watchmaking and alternative time displays. It offers a blend of Urwerk's signature mechanical artistry with a focus on astronomical data, providing a unique perspective on time measurement beyond traditional hands.
The backstory is the inspiration came from a 19th century pendulum clock gifted to Felix by his father. The clock was made by Gustave Sandoz for the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago. It had a regulator style dial which instead of time showed the distance of the Earths rotation at the equator. The pendulum, which was extra long, beats every 2.16 seconds and so each oscillation was 1 KM. The main dial had a scale of 10,000 KM broken into 100 KM units and so each tick (half an oscillation) indicates 50
The one consistent comment I got from a few people who’ve seen them in the metal was compared to the 105 this is a much thinner watch, so in that respect it seems smaller on the wrist. My suspicion however is that for smaller wrists it might wear larger than the 105/103 and others that do not have lugs. Will see. Visually I like what I see though.
I saw the concept watch at last Basel world . I realy like it a lot . I can see myself wearing one in the near future 🙏🏻
