I spent my Thanksgiving with Romain Gauthier. To pick up my C6 in person. This watch, my first Romain Gauthier, has been years in the making. I first met Romain in either 2017 or 2018 in NYC. At the time I was looking at a Logical 1, admittedly a pre owne...  

It was a long wait, and purchased based upon a render only. I was pretty relieved and happy it was all I expected.

Yes, I need to get the photos from the day organized. It was really a great day and experience. One that I want to repeat, hopefully next summer.

I really like the idea of a partially open dial, it has been done in a very elegant manner and I find it very atttractive, like a long evening dress which shows a bit and lets your mind imagine the rest!

Although the HMS movement is different and so the sub seconds etc are actually flipped. But this lower third open dial is something RG has done before. I think it’s a nice piece of continuity, it works maybe better on this C6 in my opinion than on the HMS... 

The Continuum is definitely more wearable and the openworked looks the best imo. Superb addition to your collection!

It’s also a definite sports watch design and so it’s OK to be a little larger. Especially when it’s this light.

It’s not a given anymore that actual attention is paid to the customer, in line with the level of the watch. Nice that RG lived up to their promise. Enjoy the honeymoon!

I can’t say enough good things about RG’s (and Romain personally) in terms of their / his approach to existing and potential collectors of RG.

My favourite version is that one with a full dial, but whatever you choose you can't go wrong. One of the best sporty-elegant watches, the movement is simply jaw dropping

I’ve seen some criticism in places about the various iterations of the C, the different dials etc. I don’t think that way. The C is a great vehicle for RG to introduce the brand to new collectors. But to do that they need to offer different choices, varia... 

It was a great trip. Unfortunately I left my real camera at home, so only iPhone photos. Which I will share later. Next time, I’m taking my real camera.

Car picked up in German, drive the Alps and end up at whichever watch manufacture is your chosen poison. I think you’d have some good car conversations with Romain too.

Bracelet option?

They are not interchangeable. So I’m living with the strap and this is how I want it. The bracelet version wears very well, and in titanium is super comfortable. The standard two dials however are not to my liking. On the other hand, the bracelet version ...

To me, when I saw the renders for this one 17 months ago I was smitten. Others will prefer other of the C lineup, and that’s totally personal preferences. There is something that will appeal to all.

The RG family Remains hospitality is second to none And no one in the industry does it like him But I have to warn you once your in you will be hooked I’m already down with two watches and a third in the works which I’m sure you saw there the L2

I am about to follow you, a deposit will be placed for my RG #2 shortly. And yes, you know this very well, but I cannot stress how well I was treated by Romain, Moe and team not just last week but prior to that too.

He and I did spend some time talking cars too. He being far more knowledgeable and technical than I, but I tried. 😂

And going for a pickup with RG is surely the best way to make it even more memorable! Enjoy it a lot and wear it in the best of health

It’s definitely a good fit for my every day. And this was an important factor in choosing how and where to spend money when I thought about a new watch two or three years ago.

I’m only on day 6 but I’m pretty happy. My plan is to wear it daily for at leas the next month. Hopefully I’ll have some more thoughts after that period of wear.

I was a bit distant to the C line but I must admit this iteration is looking like a million bucks, and it looks absolutely cool on your wrist, it’s like it was designed for you. The pops of color, the size etc look so harmonious on you, you made a great c...

This is not my first (indie) rodeo as they say, but Romain has consistently shown himself to be thoughtful, gracious and extremely kind with his time. And I will add, that is in the context of me being a nobody (relatively speaking). That says a lot about...

It is a great memory associated with the watch. More than just a watch as they say. I will add, this is something which is really only possible with the smaller indies. And with specific personalities. It is not something that is an automatic if you purch...

It most definitely is not. And for lunch we ended up with Venison in a lovely little restaurant by Lac de Joux.

Those pictures are fantastic. A time capsule, 17 years ago. I think the aesthetic today has a broader appeal. That said, I do like the older watches also. My biggest take away was less about the watch itself and more about the need for me to try to get to...
