Didn’t think anything of 40 and under when I got started in 1999. Watches got huge and I wondered how the industry ever missed such an obvious “improvement”. Watch diameters as we know have reduced and I too started seeing the beauty in the more classic proportions, buuut… the watches I find myself most for are still a little larger.
I’ve said this before- the moral of my personal story is I should never limit myself… just enjoy each watch for what they are and keep a nice stable for whatever my mood calls for.

I'm following the same trajectory as yourself. I think part of it is that there’s so much more to play with in terms of architecture in larger watches

Regarding bigger dials at least due to dwindling eyesight! There's a 45-47 Panerai in my future 😀
