Beyond just making watches under his own brand, some folks might not know Peter was involved in some other interesting projects....

When Max Busser ran into serious issues with the movement supply for his very first MB&F piece, Peter stepped right it to help. MB&F's supplier had sent incomplete and unassembled movements and Max was panicking. Peter took the reigns and along with a small number of other highly-skilled watch makers (including a certain Stephen McGonigle) completed and assembled the first MB&F HM 1 timepieces. As Max tells the story, there might not be an MB&F today without Peter.......

Peter also collaborated with two of my favorite watch makers, Roger Dubuis and Daniel Roth on the very interesting Maitres du Temps, Chapter II.

And he also collaborated with Harry Winston on the Ocean Collection tourbillon (pic from web, below).

Three interesting projects that Peter was involved in, there may be more that I'm not aware of! Such a talented watchmaker in so many regards....

And turn out watches like this again. ...

It’s not wrong of you at all, and I bet many of us feel the same way

I’m sure he had his reasons and we wish him the very best in his new ventures, but it all feels a little sad to me, like a waste of talent..... NickO

Agree

i am honest, i own no Speake - Marin, but it are nice watches on the pictures. Not to expensive too, so reachable for watch enthusiasts who like the brand.

Fully agree with you on that.

His early pieces hold a prominent place in my collection and he was the first independent I owned. (A serpent 42mm with enamel dial that was unfortunately sold long time ago). Great guy and artist. ...
