it all makes sense its been explained.
i have some powdered pumice and a couple of blocks of stuff i bought years
ago, but since my dremel broke i havent explored polishing further. i did manage
to polish out a caseback engraving once with excellent results, but wouldnt
think of touching anything more delicate.

Hi Graham, It sounds strange, but you always use something softer than what you want to polish as a substrate. The polishing medium itself, like diamantine, which is aluminum oxide, is quite hard. Imagine you want to polish steel. You take the diamantine ...
