Independents

Thanks, dear Greg! โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ™

And I love cappuccino, too. ๐Ÿ‘

And the construction of the whole mechanism is really fascinating!!

Rotational motion (and torque) is translated into linear motion with each passing hour.

If you have a closer look you see that the numerals for the hours are on the left side.

The hour-arm moves along an arc while the indicator slides in a straight path because it slides along that slot.

The end of the lever arm that shows the hours has a slot running parallel to its length, which is fitted to a freely moving pin underneath the white indicator. So this arm needs to extend past the windows as it travels through its arc, extending the furthest in the center around 6 and 7.

This is exactly opposite the wheel driving it which is mounted beneath the 15-minute numerals.
