Some of us would have gone through similar situation

Especially when there isn’t the opportunity to handle something be it a watch or any item before one has to commit to purchase.
In your case, it is very clear the deposit is refundable if you did not like what you see so there should not be any pressure to follow through if you have doubts about it. And since Singer decided to make 15, they did not customize just for you and as such was prepared to live with the eventual demand.
I have ordered watches before seeing them in the metal and while I have followed through with all the purchases, I made it clear to the AD upfront that while I do not need a refund of my deposit if the watch does not work for me, I must be able to utilize the sum to offset another purchase.
Now about the watch design, until you mentioned about Porsche rim, it just looks like a propeller to me which I thought why not Singer either do a proper gold dial or go full skeleton. I do not follow Singer so I will not comment on other aspects any further.
Watch collection has come to a point where unquantifiable factors, feelings, experience, relationships, etc all combining to drive the purchase decision. If the ability to read time is top priority, many watches would not have sold a single piece.
I will say that if you have any doubts, you should pass to save yourself the agony whether it will be a piece you will treasure and enjoy which probably not based on what I have read.
Cheers!
