New arrival: Sarpaneva K3 Harvest Moon
When I first was thinking about a Harvest Moon, I had a hard time finding photos. Now I suspect it may because there are so few of them. Mine is number 6. But I also suspect it may be because the watch has a subtleness in texture and coloration that is difficult to capture. It's softer in real life, has depth, and changes with every tone of light. Hardest watch I've had to photograph. Here's my best effort. Oh, but to avoid any doubt, let me say I adore it! The enigmatic moonface, the grill (and the inspiration for it), the conceit of the Harvest Moon and its expression in the red gold moonfaces. Many watches are beautiful. This is, and while it may be modern and industrial, it is also, to me, romantic. And it has a romantic song to go with it (Neil Young's Harvest Moon).
Without more blathering, a bunch of pictures:

Most photos show the full moon. I adore the way the moon is seen through the grill. Here, though, is the enigmatic moon showing itself.

The back.

I believe the deployant clasp is new for Stepan. Very nice, and consistent with his aesthetic.
And, finally, a wrist shot. I'll work on getting a better one.
Last comments: I wondered about whether to get the hands or grill different - say, all black. I didn't play with the original conception and I'm glad I didn't. The silver for the grill and hands gives it depth, contrast and interest. I was concerned that the pink gold would clash with the grill and hands but the pink gold moons are soft and textured. No clash; just condign contrast. As you can see, I did get white gold for the face and weights on the back as a little change-up.
Thanks for bearing with me!
