As a fellow Englishman, I've been interested in Peter's watches for a while, but some aspects of his past watches weren't quite right for me. The one I liked best was the old serpent calendar but this sold out in stainless steel years ago. Then at Basel in March he launched the new Serpent Calendar, which ticked all the boxes: slimmer case, easier to read date, new movement and reasonable price. Also as I work in Piccadilly, London, his watches have a personal link which appeals.
So after a couple of months wait, it arrived yesterday and I'm delighted with it. It looks much better than my pictures below show (my fault, I find it tricky to take good pictures). I did um and ahh about whether to get the 38mm or 42mm, but having got the 38mm I think I made the right decision. So far it has kept very good time (about 1 sec fast a day). I think the slimmer case has made a big difference, it feels very well proportioned. At the moment, its on a calf leather strap, whilst the alligator one goes through customs etc.
I think its going to get a lot of wear!
Gavin
