My bad Arthur and I believe it's been explained that the Moser
is infact doing the 'instant jump' with its month hand too, though from my naked eye I can see it slid to '3' fairly quickly while the date jumped 'too fast' for my naked eyes, thus that 'instant' effect 
from my video they both appeared 'instant' until you scrutinise it

thanks for this. mine is red gold, plain dial, has the 3 pronged balance wheel. still working out exactly how read the leap year phase, assuming the the star dissapears this year and stays hidden until the next leap year approaches in 2011...
For the leap year indicator, I think...
Leap year is when the indicator shows a full moon, which was 2008 (and 2012), so 2010 should be 2 years after that, which should show only half the moon.
