Dear Philippe.
You are quite correct on both counts, I have twice been invited to join the AHCI and I would dearly like to do so, my difficulty is exactly as you say.
To become a full member I would need to exhibit at Basel over a 5 year period, the packing and Air Freight of clocks from the West Coast of USA to Switzerland for display has added difficulties and quickly becomes very expensive, especially so if the shipping must be both ways.
This new Three Wheel clock would be much easier to Air freight than a Double Pendulum clock would be but this still remains an expensive exercise.

There are a few "would be" candidates outside of the European arena, perhaps the AHCI could consider creating another category of membership for those like myself. If that were to happen I would be very happy to join.
