For me I prefer the open/movement side, in part because the logo and text on the dial side for some reason appear too generic or pedestrian even though I assume lots of time, thought and money may have been spent to arrive at this point. It's interesting that this was also something that really threw me off another German watch, MG, although they have since changed logo/script on some dials.
The lug change looks no more "fiddly" than what one had to do to change a strap on a Panerai Radiomir (some dexterity was required, the screws were tiny and the wire lugs themselves were in 3 parts once removed) so that does not bother me so much. I do wonder about the security, it seems like it's a single turn to "lock" and "unlock".
