I absolutely love Daniel Roth’s two minute tourbillon, especially the violin case.

Has anyone visited his workshop?  Any insights on his production process?

I believe his son is heavily involved in producing these watches.

I read this. I wonder what this means: “ It is hand-crafted like few watches are today, using traditional watchmaking techniques that Abraham-Louis Breguet himself would easily recognize.” I’m sure he still uses CNC machines to cut the components, or no? ...

If I had the money...

...the 'Violin' JDN is maybe the first watch I would buy. Stunning in every regard, but especially for the shaped case and movement. Damn!

I wasn't aware of this brand!

Some incredibly good looking watches!

It’s less a brand now

And really just a single watchmaker making 3 or so watches per year

JDN is another level. Daniel Roth is an incredible master watchmaker and highly underrated. Unfortunately he was ahead of his time like Roger Dubuis and others. People forget how he almost single-handedly turn Breguet around...

and was and Independent in the same time frame as Daniels, Dufour, Dubuis, etc... His early models with DR are relative bargains nowadays, especially the Tourbillons, Perpetuals, etc...

+1, likewise 😉👍

The JDN Tourbillon 2 Minutes is handcrafted without the use of CNC machines. Daniel Roth worcks alone, without any collaborator, for these reasons he only menages to create 2 JDN per year.

I know that all this is anachronistic, but it's also so fascinating and satisfying, knowing that the Masterpiece with the name of a Legend, one of the greatest watchmakers in the history of watchmaking, which has devoted 6 months of its life, 8 hours a da...

You have been my guide on IG for all matters Roth, and I want to share my appreciation here. Thank you.

apart from the obvious beautiful case, dial and finished movement, I love the fact that the round watch is in 38mm which for more is the perfect size unlike many tourbillon these days which are north of 40mm!

The case is 39x11mm

Oh really?!

I think I read it on Quill and Pad that it was 38mm. Still 39mm is pretty good for a tourbillon.

Absolute masterpieces .

Was lucky to see one about five years ago

Local collector had ordered one in rose gold (to my recollection), round case and brought it to a meet up. Wow. Phenomenal hand finishing, beautiful watch and he had nothing but kind things to say of Daniel Roth and the ordering process. Lots of funding a...

Amazing watches! Love his work throughout his long illustrious career

Like others have said, it is really like an artisen manufactuer now where he makes watches on a one to one basis and that the majority of the watch is handmade (which the price reflects) If you buy one, pls share some pics or if anyone else has one, pls s...
