Uncertainty, difficult purchasing decisions.

(To be clear, “difficult” in the context of this being a champagne problem. Like 99% of all purchases we talk about here are). I took the “Dark Knight” out for some sunshine the other day. One of the rare occasions in the last year or so where I was leavi...

I appreciate the candidate thoughts on this.

It is an amazing watch but does take guts to buy it, because it is pretty far out of the “normal” swim lane of high end watches. It looks great and maybe isn’t super versatile but is a home run piece nonetheless!

Thanks Andy.

In terms of versatility it’s not there with other watches that can go from suits to jeans to shorts, and for sure it was not my pick when on the road because of that. But despite that it has been my most regularly worn watch in the last 3 years, a move to...

That was one hesitation for me, how far away it was from the traditional or even just the whole universe of round cased watches.

A huge doubt when buying it. Thankfully it was ultimately not an issue for me. But it’s definitely not a Rolex which we can almost be comfortable buying sight unseen.

Never doubted to get a Urwerk tbh .

I had one on my wishlist for a long time and when the time had come (financially) i was thrilled to strap one on my wrist . Really love your 105 a lot . I would love to add another UR at some point and a 105 would be perfect 👌🏻

I would very much like another, a UR-110.

Urwerk was on my wish list since 2011 or so, a 103 at the time. But the 103 wasn’t quite right on my wrist and the timing wasn’t right. When the 105 came long I thought it was a better fit, better feel on my wrist and so then I was more serious.

Hehe thanks :-)

That was cool. The gentleman that designed that is a Urwerk owner himself.

Interesting side note, I met him randomly a few years ago because I was wearing this watch and he had noticed it so came over. Very nice guy.

Very cool!

I really regret not buying one now. I am not a big whiskey drinker at all. But... It was so cool that it was worthy of being collected.

Thank you for your write up, Jay! This is an awesome piece. Love the DK! Also, I absolutely know the feelings you speak of here.

Yes, I know I owe a few you a write up on my decision to go with an Urwerk and I promise I will get to it. Jay, over the years I summarily dismissed the brand each time my AD mentioned it. Slowly but surely I began to say, “Hmmm, maybe I will look at it.”...

Thanks for the comments.

Many watches take time to grow on us, and no different for Urwerk. But perhaps the initial dismissal, it’s not for me or I could never wear that is much stronger with Urwerk. Look forward to the 202 story.
