Hmmm, that doesn't look too promising for me!

Thanks for posting. It does seem a little on the larger side. Hoping to seem one in the metal either when in Asia next (I know there are a few in Singapore and maybe Hong Kong so hopefully a friendly Purist will oblige) or when Marco and team come to the US later this year.

What a Night!

This is what happens when a bunch of watch nuts meet... We decided to adopt a theme of "Independents Night". I have to sheepishly admit this is only a portion of our collection... Stars of the evening are: Dufour. Roger Smith (Series Two and George Daniel...

All the watches are fantastic, of course the Dufour, Daniels, and Roger W Smith. It's wonderful the number of FPJs, that anniversary tourbillon is perfect.
Wow! Absolutely amazing!

Was the person who brought the GS punished for their rebellious decision?
Hehe...no
By: samwan : July 10th, 2018-12:43
In fact quite a few love the GS
Grand Seiko

That’s the SBGD202. At this table, it is an excellent stealth watch choice.
Oh...my...God...

I’m blown away by all of the amazing timepieces! What a fantastic GTG. All the best, Niall
The food looks good :)

FPJ is well represented alright, nice to see the Vagabondage series in full almost. Also see Lang & Heyne, something I'm very curious to see in the metal myself. Incredible table shot, wishing I was there!
Next time we will bring the full L & H contingent
By: samwan : July 10th, 2018-18:41
There are four more models in our group other than the Georg, which seemed very popular.... It is a wonderful brand and you won't be disappointed when you see the timepieces in the flesh...
Hmmm, that doesn't look too promising for me!

You mean you weren’t there, Horo?...
By: pplater : July 11th, 2018-17:29
With so many quality Indies in one place, one would have been forgiven for assuming that you were there and had taken a couple of your watchboxes along for a night out. Clearly you haven’t (yet) cornered the market after all! Cheers, pplater.
I eagerly look forward to it. Thanks, Sam.

I believe the dealer you mentioned was the same gentleman who just helped me order a new watch. It's a model I see from your amazing group photo. My incoming piece will have some slight modification. Ken
Wow...
By: samwan : July 11th, 2018-23:12
Congratulations! Post some pictures when the watch arrives.
Indeed

Believe it or not

We spend more time talking about the impending semi final than horology
If I remember correctly

This is the third Independent Night (in six or seven years) organized by group of collectors. Needless to say, it gets better and better
Truly astounding grouping
By: right_wrist : July 11th, 2018-19:56
A question for you... did Patek not fit into the "Independent" theme? I'm not much of a Patek guy myself but was interested to know if this group of collectors is less interested in Patek or if independent really meant very small independent brands (exclu...
Good question
By: samwan : July 11th, 2018-20:37
We posed the same question among ourselves and decided PP doesn't really fit into the definition. We may organized a PP night at some point though...
