Joris ide, he made money with steel, steel used for the construction industries. I believe he and his son were interested in watches and they create the brand Lebeau Courally ( was famous for high end guns ) suddenly making watches was imo not a good idea...
I have no idea but I agree, the industry is super difficulty to get into and there are so many other independent watch brands that have failed....
even succesful ones like Debethune have had many years of financial difficulties before becoming popular now (which is still not as popular as Dufour, Roger Smith, others....) so having that strewerdship is super important......i just hope someone who kno...
