Dial question

Fellow WIS: if you had the opportunity to commission a watch which would you chose and why:

1. Guilloche dial, applied minute markers and applied numerals. To be creative, maybe even in California configuration. Think KV level of guilloche

2. Oven fired enamel dial with printed Breguet numerals.
Think Breguet 5140/7147 or Urban Jurgensen style

I am torn. I equally love both but have to chose one.
If you have images of dials you find unique and special, please share them!

Thanks a lot

We are just in the design phase so still deciding metals, etc - but I will post pics, etc once we get sketches done. I Highly recommend Josh for a commission piece to everyone here! Awesome to support a young talent on the scene!

...for the replies and comments. Who do you all consider best of the best both for guilloche and grand feu enamel dials? Outside of these two techniques, I’ve also seen grenage (?) type dials like those of Haldimann and Urban Jurgensen. Anything else wort...

A well-made guilloche dial is going to be the more interesting and unique option. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming there's more skill/labor/craftsmanship that goes into an elaborate guilloche dial than an enamel dial. However, the main co...
