I first met him in Basel back in 2003 or 2004, when he was exhibiting at the AHCI stand way in the back of Hall 5. Terrible lighting for looking at watches, as many remember, but it was here in this tucked away corner of Baselworld (as it became known latterly) that some of the most creative and brilliant talents of the last 25years of independent Horology resided for 6 days.
Upon meeting Aaron, I knew I was in the presence of genius. Crafting the desk clocks with Tourbillons and perpetual calendars together with his original watches, was not common. The level of design and his even back then high quality of finishing applied to his own caliber, was impressive.
Suffice to say, Cozmopak, I concur with your words about Aaron and Iām not surprised the first watches are long gone to eager collectors. He has been operating in Hungary, a long way from the established region of traditional watchmaking, which is difficult to do, and created wonderful watches for dedicated supporters of horology. Great to see him get a little more recognition and exposure.
This new model is superb and Iām sure he will be inundated with calls for his next series.
Cheers,
Tim
