A long and interesting story

For not long my journey began to discover mechanical watch world.
It starts when i looked with a loupe a mechanical movement.
A new world which exist 3 centuries. Could i know this exist after wear only quartz watches from time to time?
The idea a watch wind itself by moving an arm and the idea to wear a status symbol was really exiting for me.
Be aware that buying grey is a risky thing, and buy a non status symbol at an official AD was the reason to start my journey at a high level, was mend to be low level.
Same as you skip the skeleton Laureato i skip Rolex.
The skeleton Laureato is one of the nicest open worked watches i seen online, and be living skeleton watches i came in touch with a Roamer skeleton.
Be liking the history of vintage watches, i have a weak spot for the ones that where the victim of the quartz crisis. I want to collect the watches so i got one of them.

Universal Geneva, Enicar, Minerva.
Ulysse Nardin rescued on time by Rolf W Schnyder you know.

I know when it is not possible to talk about watches with family and strangers.
And i am always wondering when people do not wear a watch.
I do not wear ear rings, so there must be people who are surprised why not everybody wear ear rings.
Wear a watch is almost for making a wrist more beautiful,
and i can not live when i wear no watch.
I become unstable, fear, sick. When put on a watch, i feel the energy comes into me, feel ok, feel i can go on.
When buy a watch, it is like i can fly. The honeymoon is pleasant and fine.

Restore a clock and watch is my task.

For example this is a quartz you see, but any time device must run is my habit.

My father is more and more interested in watches, he now understand more that a daily Seiko is not that special as a shiny Swiss watch that run on the moves of a wrist.
As uncomplicated my father is, i give him a quartz because i baby my automatics.
Ones a Tissot automatic falls out of my hands and the watch stops, so i know how sensitive automatics are.

If my father needs a more shiny and better watch, he get for some time my Longines Conquest vhp gmt.

I got my first mechanical watch when I was 26 and that started me on the wonderful rabbit hole of this hobby. After some 15 years of collecting and learning, I have realised that I like two things in watches the most: 1) interesting complications such as ...

Merci Mon ami! :-)

43mm in 'some' watches would be (for me) too large, but your watch is an exception! I think the size perfectly showcases the exquisiteness of the dial and back. The danger is rather than telling time, the watch will be taking time away from you (it must b...

Thank you!

I agree- a smaller case would not have given the superb movement justice. And yes, as many of us here often do, we look at our watches for time and end up just staring at them! 😆 it was a bit of a driving hazard yesterday, especially in the sun! BW, Chi K...

Just beautiful....

These are our journeys

Nobody but us can imagine what's behind a purchase...sometimes it's just as quick as a bolt, other times it takes study, planning, reconsidering. Armin Strom is yet one of the few independents with great quality and complications with "affordable" prices,...

Thank you

I am glad you understand. My wife had a chuckle when I use the word “journey” in this context but only we will truly understand the watch collecting journey! I think Armin Strom will continue to have two segments in their product line up- the entry level ...

What I love about Armin Strom is that they have a level

of movement finishing that exists only at the extremely high echelons of the watches by Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet and at Patek Philippe isn’t offered at all… The abundance of sharp interior angles is simply mind-boggling.

Absolutely!

The watch really punches above its weight. So much superb finishing here. And critically, the techniques used and the design of the movement comes together to form a beautiful package. BW, Chi Kai
