Got a call from FedEx this morning suggesting that the package containing my Christian Klings timepiece had found its way back to the facility near my home.
Immediately strapped this one on…..
…. and set off for my local FedEx headquarters.
Finally laid my hands on the large box, and noticed an unusual stamp on the side….
Not sure whether “wis-man” has meaning in a different language, is an abbreviation for something having nothing to do with horology or in fact means “ship this watch to a WIS”.
Either way, time for the un-boxing. Nothing too extravagant, which is exactly as I would have expected……
Here’s the instruction manual…..
…. which fits perfectly with one of the original design sketches Christian forwarded to me (no CAD drawings here).
Christian devotes his efforts to the masterpieces he creates. Everything else is secondary.
The box…..
A quick-and-dirty scan of the watch (will need to take better scans once I’m able to steady the hands)
Notice anything different about the final timepiece, and what was originally going to be the final timepiece (that earlier scan is below)?
Okay – I’ll tell you. At the last minute, Christian agreed to build a push button mechanism to advance the moonphase to make life easier for me. How cool is that? Could only working with an independent……
Lousy movement scan.
Better movement scan taken by Christian.
Free sprung balance vibrating at 18,000 vph is wonderful to gaze at.
Anyways, it’s off to enjoy this work of art. Hopefully I’ll have better scans to post at some point.
Hope you enjoyed peeking in on this part of a wonderful journey.
